The
history of this building in Holtum (Born, the Netherlands) goes
back untill the 13th century. It was a farm, but longer ago, is
was also a convent. The smallest building part was a plague-house,
which found its origin in the middle of the 18th century.
The
last owner, Mr. Laumen, lived in the building untill 2000 and
removed than to his daughter in Susteren. Since than, the building
became ruinous. This because in recent times, this en-vironment
became industrial zone Holtum-North and so the farm had to disappear
some day.
Unfortunately,
this happened indeed. In the middle of September 2006, the ruins
have been totally demolished within a few days.
The pictures have been made in April and June 2006, so they remember
to something that, after hundreds of years, isn't there anymore
With
special thanks to Mr. Laumen for the information he provided.
